Memorial Day - going, going, gone.
Here we are again; falling through clouds,
And those balloons from young days.
[Withering]
Falling off the ground,
And into the skies,
Where storms collect,
And mesmerize.
[Astronauts]
Where wind exudes,
Across your face,
On new sidewalks,
And old freeways.
[Too subtle]
Let’s shed our skin:
A birth in flame.
Consume some booze,
And take the blame.
[From others]
There’s little I find more repugnant,
Than the espousal of cliche sentiments.
[However]
I fear to say,
That there’s no way,
I can rephrase,
“I love you.”
[I’m trying not to]
